Peak District
The grit stone of the Peak District can provide some very hard climbing, with some of the hardest routes in the world found there. But it also can offer some great days out, where you go along the crags with a group of friends, solo climbing 30 to 50 routes in a day with minimal risk and have a lot of fun.
Ramshaw Rocks is one of these lines of crags where I did 32 routs in a day, while most were done solo there were a couple of routs that need a rope. At the far end is a little gem called the ‘Sharks Fin’ a nice little 5a (UK) solo, as you can see from the photos it’s a climb up the underside of a fin shaped outcrop.
Another area for a day’s fun is the ‘ Roaches Skyline Area’, which is a bit longer than Ramshaw with some taller challenges. The final photo is a nice little V Diff, on one of the crags.
