Map of the Vivian Quarry

Vivian Quarry is the large cut in the hillside opposite Llanberis, it is accessible from the Padarn Country Park. Originally just a deserted slate quarry with a quarry lake where you could park the next to the archway and go for a dive, it now has a small diving centre associated with it. This has brought some benefits like a purpose built access platform for divers to more easily enter and exit the water.

This is a small Quarry in a very sheltered location, a good ‘bad weather’ dive site or for diver training, though it dose not have the nice large ledges at convenient depths like Dorothea. I created this map at about the same time I was working on the Dorothea one, so it is before the Vivian Diving Centre was there.

The other nice thing about the expansion of the park is there’s now plenty to do for the rest of the family while you enjoy your dive.
